The Staff of Beechmont Baptist Church

Dr. J. Derek Yelton, Pastor

I want to personally invite you to Beechmont Baptist Church to take a look
      at what have to offer and for you to prayerfully consider joining us. The
      Lord called me to be the pastor at Beechmont Baptist since November 16,
      2003. I am originally from Columbia, South Carolina and have my Doctorate
      of Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary here in Louisville.
      My wife, Joy, and I have been married for 22 years and have four wonderful
      children. As pastor, my aim is to glorify God by reaching the lost and
      equipping the saved. Enjoying golf and doing carpentry work are two of my
      favorite pasttimes. Let me leave you with a verse: 2nd Timothy 2:15 "Do
      your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does
      not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."

Music Minister

"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth" (Luke 4:24).

To worship God we must do so in spirit and in truth. It is my hope to lead us into worship each time we meet together.

Our God is worthy of our praise and adoration.

My wife Annie and I joined you here at Beechmont in November of 2008. I am currently a student at the Southern Baptist

Theological Seminary and have called Louisville my home for over 20 years. Come join us as we praise our Lord and make

a joyful noise unto Him.

Davey Ladner, Minister to Youth

Davey Ladner - Minister to Youth

"My passion as a youth minister has been first of all to see teenagers come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and then to carefully and prayerfully support and disciple them into that close, personal, love relationship that He seeks with all of us. It is my desire to instill within young people that call from Paul to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
I was called to Beechmont Baptist in July of 2008. My wife, Teresa, and I, along with our four children, moved from the Mississippi Gulf Coast to the Louisville area in June of 2008. Prior to coming to Louisville, I have had over ten years experience in youth ministry and education, not only serving on church staff, but also working in the public education system as a principal. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from The University of Southern Mississippi, and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from William Carey College. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary."

Why not visit Beechmont Baptist this Sunday and meet him and his family as he comes to lead our youth into a stronger relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Christopher Miracle, Minster to Children

My wife is Becky and we have children. We moved our membership when I became a staff member October 14th, 2003. I’m originally from Pineville, Kentucky and went on to attend Cumberland College where I received my Bachelor of Science in Business
Admin./History (with a focus in management). I now attend Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for my Master of Arts in Christian Education (Family/Children track) and have about 30 hours left to complete. My goal as Children’s Minister is to develop the spiritual life in a child so they can receive that necessary foundation which will be built on as they grow into youth and then on into adulthood where they will do the same for their children. My favorite things to do outside of church work are:
fishing, reading, and spending time with my family. Oh, and I’m a big fan of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. My two favorite verses of scripture are Jeremiah 29:11 and Galatians 2:20.
